Meet the Team
Matt Coe
National Director
Matt Coe has worked in K-12 education since 1996. Ten of those years were spent in the UK, and for sixteen years he served overseas in Christian schools in Thailand and Germany.
He has had a variety of roles, including Advancement Director, Deputy Superintendent, and leading and developing PE and Athletic programs. He has recently become the National Director for TeachBeyond UK and is excited to help serve and send other likeminded Christian educators across the world!
Matt is married to Bronwen and has three sons, one daughter-in-law, one granddaughter, and a dog, called Chewie. He is often out on his bike somewhere.
Liz Hosker
Mobilisation & People Services
After 18 years of working in Primary Education in the UK as a class teacher as well as teacher governor, Liz now works with enquirers and applicants, supporting them through the process of joining TeachBeyond and through continued member care. Liz is involved in teaching the Sunday School at her home church in Cumbria.
Liz enjoys reading, watching films, and walking her dog Finley.
Chris Porter
Mobiliser
Chris joined TeachBeyond in May 2023 bringing with her experience of teaching, counselling, and coaching. She supports enquirers and applicants through the process of joining TeachBeyond and through continued member care.
Chris comes from a missionary family that served in France and is pleased to be able to continue the task of facilitating mission and fulfilling the Great Commission with TeachBeyond and in her personal life. She has a personal interest in mission in Malawi which is also supported by her local church.
Chris enjoys walking in the countryside, playing scrabble and occasionally dusting off her flute!
Francis Kates
Finance Officer
If the question involves finances, then Francis is a good place to start. Francis worked in IT for 30+ years and thinks it is great to be working for a Christian organisation with world-changing ambitions.
His enjoys crosswords and playing board games with his wife, Julie.
Leah Ward
Administrative & Finance Assistant
Leah enjoys being united in working for an organisation with such a heart for God.
Her hobbies include reading, listening to music, researching her family tree, and church activities…especially teaching the children.
Michael Johnson
Communication
Michael has journeyed through various pathways with TeachBeyond, starting off at a school and moving on to local ministry in Nottingham. After experiencing God’s wonderful grace during some very difficult times, Michael now has a passion for helping others see God’s goodness and to hope in Him. Recently starting a new journey with the Lancaster office, Michael is excited to get stuck in with helping to communicate stories and anecdotes about what God is doing!
Michael enjoys Bouldering, reading fantasy books, and cheesy ‘dad jokes.’
Avinash Kessop & Grace Yang
Communication Assistants
Serving as volunteers in the role, Grace & Avinash assist with the maintenance and enhancement of communication channels and fundraising efforts to enable effective engagement and to progress the mission and vision of TeachBeyond UK.
They enjoy travelling and sampling cuisine.
Angela Russell
Mission Representative N I
Angela represents TeachBeyond and Open Schools Worldwide in Northern Ireland, she attends local recruitment events and supports our UK Mobilisation Team. She is available to speak at church meetings and other organisations interested in knowing more about our Mission.
Angela enjoys small group Bible studies, decorating and updating her farmhouse, and all things craft related. She also enjoys long walks at the Causeway Coast and trying out new coffee shops.
