Meet the Team

Heather Brown Matt Coe
National Director

Matt became the TeachBeyond UK national director in 2021 having served as a TeachBeyond missionary at schools in both Thailand and Germany.

He is excited to lead the UK team serving those providing Transformational Christian Education around the globe.

Matt is married to Bronwen and has three sons, two daughters-in-law, three grandchildren and a dog, called Chewie. He is often out on his bike somewhere.

Angela Russell
Associate National Director UK and Ireland

Angela worked as a mobiliser for TeachBeyond UK before becoming the Associate National Director focusing on Ireland. She attends local recruitment events and supports our UK Mobilisation Team. She is available to speak at church meetings and other organisations interested in knowing more about our Mission.

Angela enjoys small group Bible studies, decorating and updating her farmhouse, and all things craft related. She also enjoys long walks at the Causeway Coast and trying out new coffee shops.

Heather Brown Liz Hosker
Mobilisation & People Services

After 18 years of working in Primary Education in the UK as a class teacher as well as teacher governor, Liz now works with enquirers and applicants, supporting them through the process of joining TeachBeyond and through continued member care. Liz is involved in teaching the Sunday School at her home church in Cumbria.

Liz enjoys reading, watching films, and walking her dog Finley.

Lindsay Nicol
Mobiliser

Lindsay brings many years of experience in Primary teaching in Scotland and in leading an Initial Teacher Education programme in a Scottish University. She is now one of the UK mobilisation coaches, based at home in beautiful Perthshire in central Scotland. She lives with her retired husband John and is also Mum to two married daughters and Grandma to three young grandchildren. She enjoys reading, walking, cooking and journalling and can regularly be found talking somewhere which serves good coffee and scones.

Claire Halsey

Church Relations Coordinator

Claire and her husband Jonathan have three children, aged 9, 12 and 15. They spent 7 years in Austria serving at a Torchbearer centre. Returning in 2016, they now live near Lancaster.

Claire enjoys her BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) group, reading and walking with friends.

Communications Coordinator

Having been a member of TeachBeyond while serving in Ethiopia with her husband Pete (who taught at a seminary), Katy now works with the UK team to communicate the work of TeachBeyond to those in the UK.

Katy and Pete have three sons (17,15 and 8). Pete is a church pastor in Manchester.

Leah enjoys being united in working for an organisation with such a heart for God.

Her hobbies include reading, listening to music, researching her family tree, and church activities…especially teaching the children.

Avinash Kessop
Communication Assistants

Serving as a volunteer in the role, Avinash assists with the maintenance and enhancement of communication channels and fundraising efforts to enable effective engagement and to progress the mission and vision of TeachBeyond UK.
