ABC’s of Year-End Giving

ABC’s of Year-End Giving

We are in the home stretch of 2022. That means people in the US and Canada are thinking about giving. Here is some valuable information to keep in mind as you communicate with your supporters in the coming weeks.

  • Online gifts: Donors can give online in 2022 till 11:59 on December 31st EST. Please ask your donors to pay attention to the time and give early in the day or before the last day of the year.

  • Mailed donations: must be post-marked December 2022 in order to qualify for a 2022 income tax receipt.

  • TeachBeyond Donor Services will be on the job!

    • November invitation to give: All donors are receiving an invitation to give a year-end gift to the TeachBeyond member or project they support along with their November acknowledgment. This invitation has proven very effective in the past. As you prepare your own year-end ask it is good to be aware that your donors have received this ask from TeachBeyond. This is a very soft invitation that would fit well with any ask you send out.

    • Tips for tracking Year-end giving:

      • Compare donation amounts with recurring gift amounts. If the recurring gift has not increased, it is a special year-end gift.

      • Read all comments for important information about gifts. These comments will help you acknowledge year-end gifts with confidence. Donor services staff will add notes of encouragement that your donors include with their gifts.

    • Be patient during the first two weeks of January. We will be busy sorting out 2022 and 2023 giving and entering all gifts for all members and projects as quickly as possible. If you do not see a gift you are expecting by January 15th, please let us know.

We are praying that God will provide ALL your needs!
